About

Derek’s Story

More than a decade spent in gyms, treatment centers, and behavioral health units, learning what actually helps people keep going.

Derek Polley is a therapeutic wellness consultant whose work sits between clinical treatment and everyday life. He builds programming that brings movement, nutrition, sleep, stress management, and healthy habit formation into treatment settings in a way that complements the care clinicians already provide.

For more than 11 years he served as a wellness professional at Laurel Ridge Treatment Center, designing and leading therapeutic exercise groups, wellness education classes, and individualized fitness programs for patients experiencing a wide range of behavioral health conditions. Working alongside therapists, nurses, and physicians, he saw how much structured wellness programming can change engagement, confidence, and day-to-day steadiness.

Today he continues that work with San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital and Alamo Behavioral Health, leading sessions that combine education, discussion, and movement, always focused on skills people can keep using after discharge.

Alongside behavioral health, Derek has spent years providing wellness-related services to active-duty military members, athletes, tactical professionals, and everyday individuals. As a Licensed Massage Therapist and Corrective Exercise Specialist, much of that work involved helping people move without pain again, a reminder that physical setbacks and emotional ones rarely arrive separately.

He holds a B.A. in Health and Human Services and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, and a Texas Licensed Massage Therapist.

Why the Therapeutic Wellness Blueprint was created

Wellness was too often an occasional activity rather than part of the program. The Blueprint gives facilities a complete, ready-to-use system so staff can lead meaningful wellness sessions without building curriculum from scratch.

Why The Wellness Rebuild was created

People kept asking the same question after discharge, after a divorce, after an injury, after burnout: where do I even start? The Wellness Rebuild is that answer for individuals: practical steps for rebuilding the body, the routine, and the person, without extremes or shame.

People often need support rebuilding their physical health and daily routines alongside everything else they are working on. That belief is the through-line in everything on this site.
